John Lory

From a very early age it was plain for everyone to see that John was indeed a natural born performer. Widely regarded as an amateur entertainer throughout the majority of his childhood, his first taste of show business came at 17, when he fronted a local rock band, ‘Someone Tall’.

However, constant pressure from a fellow singer led John to finally break away from the group and become one half of a vocal duo ‘Double Edge’. For the next two years they worked solidly, including a six month tour of the British Army bases in Germany.

Their popularity was mainly down to their laid back approach whilst on stage, effortlessly incorporating a mixture of popular music and light hearted comedy.

Despite possessing a very strong singing voice, John gradually found himself enjoying the humorous aspect of the show, more than the aspect of singing itself. As the number of songs decreased, the links between the songs became longer and longer.

Almost by accident John found himself becoming a stand up comedian.
